It began its operation in 2007 and it displays historical training records gathered from both regional schools as well as other parts of Greece. This material among other things, includes photographs of school life, school books, maps, objects of the school environment, teaching aids, flags, etc. Also official forms of educational reforms from the 19th century are displayed.
Constitutes a unit of the Department of Modern and Historical Archive International Education Department of Education and aims:
- to collect, preservation and promotion of historical educational documents,
- to raise the awareness of teachers and the wider community in such matters
- to preserve cultural heritage in education and training
- to study and research the history of education and training in Greece and internationally and
- to train graduates of higher education on issues of museum education, record maintenance and archiving
The museum is housed in the Library and other central buildings, on the second floor of South Wing.
