The official language of modern and ancient Greece is Greek language, but the majority of the population also speaks English. It is important to mention that due to its specific geographical location, Achaia has close relations with Italy through the port of Patras and thus Italian language is also familiar to citizens.

German, French and Spanish follow in terms of familiarization but these languages are mostly spoken at tourist areas that are frequently visited by tourists from these countries.
