The seas of the area present a special interest for the aquanauts since they have geo-morphological particularities (rock or sandy coasts, small islets or skerries) and also hydrological, climatic and natural-chemical features that create a variable complex of flora and fauna.
Fields of poseidonia and sand, rock clusters, reefs, vertical cuts and small banks create excellent conditions for marine organisms. The bottom of the sea is extremely rich in varieties of fish, shell-fish, mollusks, echinoderms, polypods, anthozoa etc while dangerous aquatic organisms, apart from sea urchins do not gather in the area.
In addition, a perspective diver, other than the “residents” of the seabed, can meet remnants of history, shipwrecks scattered across the Corinthian and Patraikos Bays. There are more than ten wrecks in the area, most of which sank during World War II.
